Goods Lift Installation

This installation in a goods lift started with the question of how to accentuate or amplify the threshold – how to create more awareness of the act of crossing the threshold from one space to another and how we use mundane spaces without thought. A lift seems like an extended form of threshold, one we cross unthinkingly. The entrance was hung with a fringed curtain and an ambiguous soundtrack played as people were ferried 3 floors.
